Fees and funding

Our fees are £6.00 per hour for 2 year olds; and £5.50 per hour for 3 and 4 year olds. We do not charge for anything else. Snacks are free and there are no top-up fees. All you will need to do is bring a packed lunch if your child is staying over the lunch time period.

We are registered with Essex County Council to provide Free Early Years Education to 3 and 4 year olds. Eligible children are entitled to up to 15 hours funding a week (in other circumstances, you might be entitled to up to 30 hours. This can be split between two different settings. Your child will become eligible for government funding the term after their third birthday, i.e. 

Birth date Sept – December – funding in January
Birth date Jan – March – funding after Easter
Birth date Apr – Aug – funding from September

We are also registered to receive funding for 2 year old.

For those working families, whilst we are not able to offer you 30 hours, if you are eligible to receive 30 hours funding, and if we have the space, we can offer you a maximum of 5 hours per day (25 hours per week). If you think you might be eligible for 30 hours funding, please contact the HMRC or speak to one of us for more information.

Fees are reviewed annually at the discretion of the Windmill Preschool Management Committee.

PLEASE NOTE: We require 1 month’s notice if you intend to take your child out of The Windmill Preschool.
