We found Windmill Preschool after a negative previous experience and I just knew as soon as I walked into that hall, our little girl was going to be just fine here! The staff are so caring and attentive, not only to the children but to their families as well, especially anxious mummies like me! I would highly recommend Windmill to anyone who wants a loving, fun and nurturing environment for their little people! Windmill really is an asset to the local community!

My son joined when he was 2 years 3 months and so will have been attending the preschool for over 2.5 years. He loves going – he runs off into the hall so fast that I rarely get a hug and kiss goodbye and he is never in a rush to go home. Every member of staff is great and I have no worries or concerns leaving him there each day. Would definitely recommend The Windmill Preschool – a great asset to the community and surrounding villages.

From my first visit to the Windmill, I knew it would be right for my two boys. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the preschool had a lovely, happy atmosphere. My boys continue to enjoy and learn at the Windmill and, as a mum, I feel completely confident to leave them knowing they are in a caring and safe environment.

This is a lovely balanced environment for preschoolers. Yes it is in a hall, but in no way should you let that affect your choice to send your child here. There is an outside area for daily play, and they regularly go to beautiful gardens in the village to explore, as well as visiting the wonderful Thaxted Church and Windmill. Every day there are different activities set out for the children, from toys to role play to trike riding. All the teachers are warm and welcoming with the children which was one of the most important things for me. My son has been at school for a year now, and I feel that going to The Windmill Preschool stood him in good stead for this major transition in his early years. I highly recommend it.

We’re so lucky to have such a wonderful preschool to walk to in Thaxted. My son started at 2 1/2 years and has loved every session. The staff are brilliant and so experienced; my son has developed a wonderful bond with his keyperson. Walks to the windmill and secret garden and well planned activities inside and outside have ensured my son has developed so well and is prepared for primary school. We love reading all the observations and comments in his learning journal which is a great keepsake.

I have sent all 4 of my boys here and will send the next one too. The staff are friendly and engaging and clearly love their job. Sessions are brilliantly planned and I love hearing what my 4 yr old has been up to. Its a lovely local preschool and I would most definitely recommend.
